Hello friends !! Today we are going to discuss various components of power plant as power plant are used to generate power
First of all what is power plant??
As the name define power means where the power is generated & plant means a place where all the process of generation is there.
Power is the work done/time taken.
Main components of power plant
As all of you know about boiler. Boiler are generally used in industries, companies & in power plants.
BOILER:The main function of boiler is to convert water into steam or vapours.
Boiler are used in power plant for steam generation & to boil water at higher temperature by performing various process throughout it.
Boiler are generally of two types
Fire tube boiler
Water tube boiler
Fire tube boiler- it is a type of boiler in which the flue gases are passed through the tube & the water is surrounded with it.means the flue gases passes in tube and outside tube the water is surrounded. As the flue hot gases enter the tube the water which is surrounded outside the tube start boiling.& Further the water is converted into vapour or steam.this way the process take place.
Water tube boiler- it is the type of boiler in which the water are passed through tubes & gases are surrounded through it. As when the water is passed through the tube the gases are outside of tubes. As when the gases are flow outside the tube the water which is in tubes get boils due to the heating of flue gases outside the tube & water inside tube convert into vapour.
Further the fire tube boiler is divided in types of bolier which are considered as fire tube boiler.

Ex- Lancashire,
Cochran,
locomotive boiler
Water tube boiler example- Babcox & Wilcox bolier is an example of water tube boiler.
The boiler further is also dived as according to pressure.

Economizer- it is a device which is used to reduce energy consumption or to perform useful function such as preheating fluid.
Superheater- superheater is a device which generally used to increase the heat.its covert the wet steam into dry steam or saturated steam into superheated steam.
Airpreheater- it is a device used to preheat air. It is used to increase thermal efficiency of the process.
Turbine- it is a type of device used to convert pressure energy into kinetic energy.
The many component through which the power is generated is turbine. As the turbine is directly connected with generator or an alternative.
Pump: as we all know that the pumps are used for displacement of water from one place to another
Economizer- it is a device which is used to reduce energy consumption or to perform useful function such as preheating fluid.
Superheater- superheater is a device which generally used to increase the heat.its covert the wet steam into dry steam or saturated steam into superheated steam.
Airpreheater- it is a device used to preheat air. It is used to increase thermal efficiency of the process.
Turbine- it is a type of device used to convert pressure energy into kinetic energy.

Condensor- the main function is to condense vapour. It converts vapour into liquid.
Cooling tower- it is used for reject heat to atmosphere.
Pump- pump is device used to flow fluid or gases through it.
